(Photo Courtesy: Embakasi East MP Babu Owino)  Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has publicly blamed Deputy Inspector General Eliud Langat for the death of 31-year-old Albert Ojwang, who died while in police custody.  According to Owino, Albert was innocent and should not have been arrested in the first place. Albert was taken by police in Homa Bay on 7th June 2025 after he allegedly posted false information about a senior police officer online.  He was then transported to Nairobi, nearly 400 kilometres away. Days later, Albert was found dead at Central Police Station. Police claimed that Albert died after hitting his head on a wall inside the cell.  But Babu Owino strongly disagreed with that explanation.  He believes Albert was murdered and has demanded that DIG Eliud Langat and others involved be arrested and charged with murder. “You took an innocent man from his dad only to kill him. Speaking from his hospital bed, the Juja legislator shared what happened.  “I had just left a church service at the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya when I was attacked. Unknown men blindfolded me and used something through my nose which knocked me out,” Koimburi said. The Kenyan MP said he was unconscious for hours and only woke up the next day. “When I regained consciousness, I found myself in a coffee plantation.  A boda boda rider helped me and contacted my family, who rushed me to hospital,” he explained.
