(Photo Courtesy: Vehicles)  The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has officially announced that vehicle prices in Kenya will rise significantly from 1st July 2025.  This is due to the implementation of the new Finance Act 2024, which introduces a fresh tax calculation method based on the Current Retail Selling Price (CRSP) system. Under the updated CRSP system, taxes on imported vehicles will now be determined using the current market price of each car model, instead of the older, lower valuation estimates.  This shift will result in higher import duty and excise duty for most used vehicles, directly affecting car importers and everyday buyers across the country. KRA confirmed that the import duty has increased from 25% in 2019 to 35% in 2025. Kenya Prisons Shortlist 2025: Interview Dates and Full List of Successful Candidates Released

(Photo Courtesy: Police On Training)  The Kenya Prisons Service has officially released the shortlist of candidates and announced the interview schedule following a rigorous national recruitment exercise earlier this year. According to a public notice issued on Saturday, 7 June 2025, the interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted from Monday, 10 June to Thursday, 13 June 2025 at the Prisons Staff Training College in Ruiru, located along Ruiru-Kiambu Road, off the Eastern Bypass. The shortlisted applicants include those who applied for the positions of prison cadets, technicians, and artisans. Good News for Kenyans Yet to File Returns as KRA Extends Working Hours, Here Is New Working Hours

(photo courtesy: Inside view of KRA office in Nairobi)  The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has officially announced an extension of working hours to support taxpayers filing their 2024 income tax returns ahead of the 30th June deadline. According to a notice released on Tuesday, 20th May 2025, KRA stated that all main service centres and selected Huduma Centres will now operate for 12 hours on weekdays, opening from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.  This move is aimed at making the tax return process easier for millions of Kenyans who are yet to file. On Saturdays, only Tax Service Centres will remain open between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, while Huduma Centres will stay closed.  However, on Saturday, 28th June, KRA will extend Saturday working hours until 6:00 pm at Tax Service Centres to accommodate more last-minute filers.
