The move comes in response to Nairobi’s fast-growing population and the urgent need for better housing. While addressing a church gathering in Makadara, Sakaja announced that the redevelopment will start with Woodley, Kariobangi, Ziwani, Bahati, and Jericho. These estates will be redesigned with new, modern housing to replace old structures. He also confirmed that Lumumba, Bondeni, Buruburu, and parts of Embakasi will undergo the same process. The goal is to increase the number of housing units while ensuring that residents have access to affordable and quality homes.
