Juja MP George Koimburi has finally spoken out following his alleged abduction in Kenya on 25 May 2025, which left him hospitalised and raised national security concerns.

Speaking from his hospital bed, the Juja legislator shared what happened.

“I had just left a church service at the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya when I was attacked. Unknown men blindfolded me and used something through my nose which knocked me out,” Koimburi said.

The Kenyan MP said he was unconscious for hours and only woke up the next day. “When I regained consciousness, I found myself in a coffee plantation.

A boda boda rider helped me and contacted my family, who rushed me to hospital,” he explained.

Koimburi denied staging the abduction, dismissing rumours that the incident was politically motivated. “What I went through was real and terrifying. I strongly condemn the rising cases of forced disappearances and abductions in Kenya,” he said.

The Juja MP urged the government and security agencies to take action.

“I ask Kenyans to continue praying for our country. The government must act and ensure those behind these abductions are arrested,” he added.

Calling himself a victim of abduction and torture, Koimburi said Kenya must not allow criminals to operate freely.

His message follows accusations by top police officers, who claim the MP may have staged the abduction for political attention.
