(photo courtesy: CJ Koome)  The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced 150 new Judiciary jobs in Kenya, opening doors for qualified individuals to serve as judges, magistrates, and kadhis. Out of the 150 Judiciary vacancies, 45 are for judges, with 15 posts in the Court of Appeal, 20 in the High Court, and 10 in the Environment and Land Court (ELC). The JSC is also looking to hire 60 resident magistrates and 5 resident kadhis.  An additional 40 slots are open for Small Claims Court adjudicators, also referred to as resident magistrates. This major announcement follows a gazette notice issued by Chief Justice Martha Koome on 3rd June 2025.  She declared the Judiciary's commitment to bring in new faces to improve service delivery and justice access.
