The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced 150 new Judiciary jobs in Kenya, opening doors for qualified individuals to serve as judges, magistrates, and kadhis.

Out of the 150 Judiciary vacancies, 45 are for judges, with 15 posts in the Court of Appeal, 20 in the High Court, and 10 in the Environment and Land Court (ELC).

The JSC is also looking to hire 60 resident magistrates and 5 resident kadhis.

An additional 40 slots are open for Small Claims Court adjudicators, also referred to as resident magistrates.

This major announcement follows a gazette notice issued by Chief Justice Martha Koome on 3rd June 2025.

She declared the Judiciary's commitment to bring in new faces to improve service delivery and justice access.

Those interested in applying can find full job descriptions, qualifications, and application procedures on the official JSC website.

The application deadline is 30th June 2025 at 5:00 p.m.

Applicants are reminded that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted, and any form of lobbying or canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.

This hiring comes nearly a year after the Judiciary paused all recruitment due to government budget cuts, which reduced the Judiciary’s funds by 15%.

At the time, CJ Koome said the institution had to focus only on essential services.

Now, the JSC is ready to boost the court system with qualified professionals who will help restore efficiency and public trust.

If you're looking to apply for judge jobs in Kenya or become part of the Judiciary, this is your chance to make a difference.

Visit the JSC website and submit your application before the deadline.
