Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has confirmed several high-profile reappointments following recent government reshuffles, signalling a push to strengthen key financial and development institutions.

In a gazette notice dated 5th June 2025, CS Mbadi reappointed Jedidah Karwitha Mwiti to the Board of Directors at Consolidated Bank Limited.

Mwiti will now serve a fresh three-year term, continuing her role in guiding the state-owned financial institution's governance and growth strategies.

At the same time, the CS made critical leadership changes at the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS).

He reappointed Molu Koropu Tepo and Francis Nkako as board members for another three years, ensuring consistency in the body’s strategic direction.

KNBS plays a vital role in collecting, analysing, and publishing national data. It also oversees the coordination of Kenya’s National Statistical System.

Mbadi further appointed Prof. Kennedy Ogolla as a new member of the KNBS board, also for a three-year term.

This move is expected to bring academic expertise to the team, helping improve the quality and accuracy of statistical reporting in the country.

Additionally, Mbadi retained James Kimonye on the board of the National Council for Population and Development (NCPD). Kimonye’s reappointment to this key advisory body will help continue national programmes on population management and policy planning.

Meanwhile, in the transport sector, Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir reappointed Lewis Mutuiri Gitonga to the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) board.

Gitonga’s three-year term will support the corporation’s ongoing efforts to enhance railway services and infrastructure oversight across the country.

These reappointments reflect the government’s commitment to stability and performance in major state institutions amid broader leadership changes.
