Tensions Erupt as Orwoba Supports Barasa's Claims Against Sifuna, Then Calls for His Arrest

A heated political exchange has taken a sharp twist after Senator Gloria Orwoba echoed MP Didmus Barasa’s claims that Edwin Sifuna is bitter over missing a Cabinet slot—but went on to say Barasa himself belongs behind bars.

In an explosive podcast interview with Mwaafrika, Orwoba stated that while Barasa may be right about Sifuna's alleged frustration, his own past should disqualify him from taking the moral high ground. “In a more developed country, Didmus would be in jail,” she said. Still, she added, “even a broken clock is right twice a day,” implying Barasa’s accusations were not without merit.

Barasa had earlier claimed Sifuna had once sought his help to secure a Cabinet position in the Kenya Kwanza government. According to the Kimilili MP, Sifuna’s current public outrage is rooted in being overlooked. “He even asked that I help push his name forward,” Barasa claimed, a statement that has sparked fresh debates in political circles.
