A horrifying assault in Meru has left a young man permanently scarred, sparking anger and fear in the local community. Shadrack Mureira alleges he was forcibly injected with poison in his private parts by two men who accused him of stealing miraa.
Speaking in pain, Shadrack recounted how the assailants lured him to their home before restraining and undressing him. He claimed they injected a red chemical into his genitals, announcing it was meant to sterilise him permanently. “They told me they were doing this to ensure no bad seed comes from me,” he said. According to Shadrack, the agony was unbearable, and he fainted, only to regain consciousness at the police station.
Family members say the attackers are well-known in the area, and disturbingly, one of them is believed to be a medical practitioner. “They’ve crippled his future over an accusation we strongly deny,” said his uncle, Festurs. Shadrack’s mother, Truphosa, broke down in tears, begging authorities to take swift action. “Please, help my son. I have no power, but I need justice,” she pleaded.
The incident allegedly occurred earlier this month, but no arrests have been made. Shadrack’s condition continues to worsen, with constant bleeding, swelling, and severe difficulty passing urine. Local residents say they are now afraid to visit the implicated hospital, fearing the same fate.
Police have not confirmed whether investigations are ongoing or if any suspects have been questioned. The silence from medical regulators and local administrators has only intensified the family’s frustration. As pressure mounts on law enforcement to act, the attackers remain free, and a community watches in fear, wondering if justice will ever be served.
