Former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta has commended Generation Z for their fearless attitude and urged them to continue challenging outdated systems.
Speaking during Brookhouse School’s 17th graduation ceremony on Friday, 13 June 2025, Margaret inspired 170 graduates to embrace innovation and use their talents to make the world a better place.
She praised Gen Z for their courage and boldness in standing up against injustice and pushing for positive change. Margaret described today’s youth as “architects of global change” who are not afraid to question the norm and imagine a brighter future.
“You’re not just achieving personal success, but using your gifts and ideas to improve the world,” she said. “Go forward and let your light shine wherever life takes you.”
Margaret encouraged the young generation to keep experimenting with new ideas and to take the lead in creating solutions for the world’s problems. According to her, their creativity and resilience are key to transforming societies and building a peaceful, just future.
Her remarks come as Gen Z continues to play an active role in sparking conversations about leadership, equality, and justice in Kenya. Margaret’s message highlighted the importance of youth voices in shaping tomorrow’s world.
As someone who often stays away from the public spotlight, her appearance and speech were a strong reminder that today’s youth have the power to create real, lasting change.
