Widow’s Body Yet to Be Buried as Husband Begins Search for New Wife

Shock has gripped residents and social media users alike after a man publicly declared his search for a new wife—barely a week after the death of his spouse, whose body is still awaiting burial.

The man, identified only as Brian, stunned many after posting on Facebook that he was ready to remarry. In his message, he described himself as a 41-year-old widower from Nigeria, seeking a God-fearing woman to start a new life with. The timing, however, triggered fury among netizens, especially since his late wife Glory’s burial is scheduled for August 1.

Glory’s employer, Roberta Edu, revealed that disturbing claims of domestic abuse surfaced shortly after news of Glory’s death broke. “Family and friends came forward saying she had suffered abuse. We filed a complaint and pushed for an autopsy,” she said. The post-mortem uncovered a cracked skull with internal bleeding, indicating Glory may not have died of natural causes.

The employer added that attempts were made to bribe officials to derail the investigation. “We escalated the case to Police Headquarters in Abuja due to corruption at the local level. Eventually, the matter was handed to the DPP,” she added.

But in a surprising twist, Glory’s family later petitioned for the withdrawal of charges against Brian, claiming he could not have harmed their daughter. The case was dropped, and Brian was released.

Just days after walking free, Brian published the controversial Facebook post, igniting further outrage. With Glory yet to be laid to rest, questions now swirl around the integrity of the investigation, the family's abrupt change of stance, and Brian’s unsettling urgency to remarry. The truth remains murky, and public pressure is mounting for a deeper probe.
