A love story eight years in the making reached a beautiful milestone last weekend as Ramogi TV presenter Cleophas Oluoch officially tied the knot with Nicole Caroline Omollo in a grand traditional ceremony. The joyous event, held in Kasipul constituency, Homa Bay county, drew family, friends, and colleagues to celebrate the couple’s union.
In an exclusive interview, Oluoch revealed he honoured Luo customs by paying a dowry of ten cows and one goat. “I took 10 cows, and I was allowed to take her. I also gave one goat as per the Luo traditions,” he shared. Although he declined to reveal the monetary value involved, he expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support from both families since their introduction ceremony in 2022.
The couple first met on campus in 2017, with Oluoch recalling how their relationship began during a birthday cake-cutting event. “It was in March, a few days before my birthday. During the cake-cutting session, I was asked who I wanted to do it with, and I mentioned Florence’s name. After that, rumours started and later, we became an item.” The pair graduated together in 2020 and have nurtured their bond ever since.
The presenter, now a proud father, stressed the importance of communication and honesty in marriage. “We have to be very intentional in all that we do... Anytime I know we have a meeting I inform her.” When asked about plans for a white wedding, Oluoch confirmed one is on the horizon once they focus on growing their family and careers.
Social media was abuzz with congratulatory messages from fans celebrating the couple’s milestone. Despite the celebrations, questions linger about how they plan to balance their demanding media careers with family life, and what lessons their journey holds for young couples navigating modern relationships.
