MP Kitur Reveals Kidney Sale Scam: Kenyan Man Got Only Sh450K from Fake Sh1.2M Deal
Kenyan Man Receives Only Sh450K After Selling Kidney in Fake Sh1.2M Deal, MP Kitur Reveals
Nandi Hills MP Bernard Kitur has shared shocking details of two victims caught in a fake kidney sale scheme involving a private hospital in Eldoret.
While speaking to the National Assembly Health Committee, Kitur explained how the two men were tricked into giving up their kidneys with the promise of huge payments.
They were first asked to surrender their national ID cards, which were then replaced with foreign-looking ID cards. These fake documents were allegedly used to change their medical details at the hospital.
One of the victims had been promised Ksh1.2 million for donating his kidney. But in the end, he only got Ksh50,000 before the surgery and Ksh400,000 after—totalling Ksh450,000.
The rest of the money was never paid.
Details of the second victim’s payment were not disclosed, but both victims are said to have been threatened and bribed to keep quiet.
MP Kitur told the committee that these individuals are scared but willing to testify.
He claimed that several people have tried to silence them through threats and money offers.
According to him, this is part of a bigger illegal organ trafficking ring targeting poor and desperate Kenyans.
He said he got involved after hearing directly from the victims and is now calling for justice and full protection for them.
His remarks have added weight to a growing investigation into organ trafficking in Kenya.
MP Kitur’s account backs up earlier international reports that exposed how some Kenyans are being exploited for their organs.
Parliament is now looking into the issue further, and more updates are expected as the case unfolds.
