Citizen TV Report Reveals Blogger Albert Ojwang Was Tortured to Death by Inmates on Police Orders

Citizen TV has exposed new details surrounding the death of political blogger Albert Ojwang, revealing that he was tortured to death by fellow inmates while being held at Central Police Station.

The report names three suspects — Gin Abwao, Collins Ireri, and Brian Mwaniki — who were reportedly arrested for their role in Ojwang’s murder. 

According to IPOA, the detainees acted on instructions from police officers who allegedly ordered them to beat the blogger while in custody.

This development has sparked national outrage, with many Kenyans taking to social media to question the credibility of IPOA’s findings.

 “What is this nonsense IPOA is treating Kenyans to?” one user wrote, adding that the real suspects — the officers in charge of the cells — were being protected.

Earlier this week, Citizen TV released CCTV footage showing police officers moving Ojwang’s lifeless body to Mbagathi Hospital, contradicting the earlier claim that he died at the facility.

 The footage intensified calls for accountability, with growing suspicion that a cover-up is underway.

Ojwang had been arrested just days before his death, and now pressure is mounting on authorities to go beyond the cellmates and investigate the role of the police officers involved.

Kenyans are demanding justice and a full, transparent investigation into how a man could be tortured to death inside a police station — allegedly under orders from those meant to uphold the law.
